	IIT Madras team produces gas hydrates under ‘space’ conditions Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras have experimentally shown that methane and carbon dioxide (CO2) can exist as gas hydrates at temperatures and pressures seen in interstellar atmosphere. Gas hydrates are formed when a gas such as methane gets trapped in well-defined cages of water molecules forming crystalline solids. In terrestrial conditions, gas hydrates are formed naturally under the sea bed and glaciers under high pressure, low temperature conditions. 	Union Cabinet approves Constitution Amendment Bill for reservation in general category The decision, which comes ahead of the general election in April-May, was taken at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Union Cabinet on Monday approved a Constitution Amendment Bill to provide 10% reservation to the economically backward sections in the general category, a senior government official said. The Bill will also cover those from the Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist and other minority communities. 	NTA releases UGC NET Result 2018 ; Check cut-off details here National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the result for UGC NET December 2018 exam on January 5, 2019 evening.The result was released within 14 days of the conclusion of the exam.Moreover , it's the first time that UGC NET exam was conducted in computer based mode. The exam was conducted on two shifts per day from December 18 to December 22 , 2018 across 235 cities in the country and was conducted for 85 different subjects.This exam is being conducted for the post of Assistant Professorship or for JRF.As per the UGC policy , 6% of those candidates who appear in both the papers and obtain minimum qualifying marks in aggregate of both the papers are declared NET qualified.This same policy is also observed to determine the cut off mark for each subject for which the NET exam is conducted.
