	SSC EXAM DATES: UPDATES AWAITED FOR CGL, GD CONSTABLE, JHT AND STENOGRAPHER 2018 EXAMINATIONS ON ssc.nic.in:	11/30/2018 12:00:00 AM
	SSC EXAM DATES: ☛ Staff Selection Commission, SSC is yet to release the exam dates for SSC CGL 2018, SSC GD Exam, SSC JHT 2019 and SSC Stenographer 2019. The notifications were released in the months of April, September, and October respectively. SSC CGL Tier I 2018 examinations were earlier scheduled for July 2018 but were postponed. The new dates have not been released on ssc.nic.in as yet. ☛ More than 50 lakh candidates apply for these examinations every year. Though SSC has been releasing the examination notifications and has been accepting applications, no examination dates have been shared as yet for any of the new examinations. It is next expected to release the notifications of SSC CHSL examination somewhere in January 2019. ☛ Candidates who have filled the application forms for the abovementioned examination are advised to check the official website ssc.nic.in regularly. Sources are suggesting that the dates would only be shared by last week of December. These reports, however, have not been confirmed by the officials. More>>

	AIIMS MBBS 2019: BASIC REGISTRATION PROCESS TO BEGIN SHORTLY AT Aiimsexams.org:	11/30/2018 12:00:00 AM
	AIIMS MBBS 2019: ☛ AIIMS MBBS 2019 Basic Registration process will begin soon. Candidates will be able to complete the basic registration process on the official website for AIIMS Exams www.aiimsexams.org. This year onward, AIIMS has introduced two-tier registration process for MBBS course too. Earlier two-tier mode of registration was followed only for PG medical and dental courses. ☛ In the two-tier process candidates would need to complete basic registration process first, the window for which will be opened today. The basic registration process will be conducted almost 6 months prior to the exam. Those who complete the basic registration process will then have to complete final registration process, which will be conducted roughly two months before the exam. ☛ Those who miss out on the basic registration process now will not be allowed to apply for the AIIMS MBBS 2019 exam during the final registration phase. ☛ Since no application fee is required for Basic Registration, all students are advised to complete the process. In the Basic Registration process, students will need to provide only basic details and upload images. ☛ Once a candidate completes the basic registration on the website, they would not need to complete the basic registration process again. Basic Registration is enduring for life. ☛ All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will conduct the basic registration till January 3, 2019. 	ONLY ONE MORE DAYS LEFT FOR REGISTRATION: ☛ The Department of School Education has recommended that students interested in pursuing medical courses to apply and register immediately to write NEET (National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test). A pass in NEET is mandatory. ☛ NEET for the current academic year is scheduled to be conducted on 5th May. The National Board of Examinations has announced that these applications/registrations must be done online. ☛ Accordingly, the registration for NEET commenced on 1st November. As for the government school students, arrangements have been made for them to apply through their respective schools. ☛ In this situation, only one more days remain for registration to participate in NEET. The last date is 30th November. ☛ The Director of the School Education Department, Rameswara Murugan has ordered that the headmasters/principals of all government schools should help in this regard to complete the registration to participate in NEET. 	CERTIFICATES VERIFICATIONS FOR TNPSC GROUP-4 EXAMS: ☛ The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced that the certificates/documents verification for the successful candidates in the Group-4 examinations recently conducted is scheduled from 3rd December. A notification in this regard, released by the Secretary of TNPSC, Nandhakumar mentions that a written examination was conducted by TNPSC to fill up the vacancies of the state government employees under the Group-4 category on 11th February. ☛ The results and the marks were released on 30th July. In this regard, the certificate/document verification with the original and the counselling session for the successful candidates is scheduled from 3rd December. The list of the qualified successful candidates has already been uploaded on the official website of TNPSC. ☛ The invitation letters for the above counselling session can be downloaded from the website on the internet. 	SSC STENOGRAPHER 2017 EXAM: ☛ Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the skill test result for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination 2017. Candidates who have appeared in the skill test can check the details and their result by visiting the official site of SSC at ssc.nic.in. ☛ The written examination of SSC Stenographer ‘C’ &’D’ Exam 2017 was conducted long ago on November 21, 2017. In the exam, a total of 8469 candidates qualified the written test and were called for skill test for the post of Stenographer ‘C’ and 15004 candidates were declared qualified and were called for skill test for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. Out of which 3731 candidates appeared in Stenographer Grade ‘C’ Skill Test and 6439 candidates appeared in Stenographer Grade ‘D’ Skill Test. ☛ The skill tests were conducted by the regional offices of the commission. 	OTET 2018 REGISTRATION: ☛ Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2018 registration date has been extended by Board of Secondary Education of Odisha. As per TOI report, the last date to register after the extension is till December 10, 2018. The official notice from the Board is yet not released but is expected to release by 3 pm today. 	PhD HOLDERS FROM TOP FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES ELIGIBLE FOR DIRECT RECRUITMENT AS ASSUTANT PROFESSOR: UGC:	11/29/2018 12:00:00 AM
	PhD HOLDERS FROM TOP FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES: ☛ Doctoral degree holders from the top 500 foreign universities are now eligible for direct recruitment as an assistant professor in Indian varsities, according to the UGC. ☛ As per the new recruitment norms, the top 500 ranking of the university shall be referred from four famous world university ranking systems -- Quacquarelli Symonds, Times Higher Education rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. ☛ "The direct recruitment eligibility of international PhD holders is applicable for the disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Physical Education and Journalism and Mass Communication. This will help students learn from global talent in India itself, " a senior University Grants Commission (UGC) official said. ☛ Earlier, the candidates eligible for the post were required to have a minimum 55 per cent marks in the Master's degree in the concerned subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. The candidate was also required to have cleared the National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET, SET. ☛ While PhD degree holders from Indian university with the required percentage in Masters' are also eligible for direct recruitment, the minimum requirements related to Masters' programme have been waived off for international PhD holders. ☛ "The direct recruitment eligibility only grants candidates an exemption from the written test but their performance in the interview will be a deciding factor for their appointment," the official added. 	CSIR UGC NET 2018: ☛ Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the result of UGC-NET 2018, June exam. Candidates who have appeared in the examination can check the official site of CSIR for their respective results. The CSIR UGC NET 2018 was conducted on June 17, 2018. ☛ A total of 1991 candidates have been selected for JRF (NET) CSIR and 1500 candidates are selected for JRF (NET) UGC. 3756 candidates have qualified the Lecturer (NET) post. The fellowship will be effective from September 01, 2019 and will be valid for 2 years joining the CSIR fellowship. Check CSIR NET June 2018 Result. ☛ The CSIR UGC NET 2018 was conducted in two sessions- 9am to 12noon and 2pm to 5pm. 	CGPSC STATE SERVICES MAINS RESULT 2017 ANNOUNCED AT psc.cg.gov.in: ☛ Chattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has declared the State Service Mains 2017 exam result. The CGPSC State Service Mains 2017 examination was conducted on June 22, 23, 24 and 25, 2018 across the state at various centres. Candidates who have appeared in the examination are advised to check their respective result by visiting the official site of CGPSC at psc.cg.gov.in. ☛ The preliminary examination was conducted on February 18, 2018. A total of 4247 candidates had qualified the preliminary exam and had to appear for the main exam. The CGPSC State Service Mains 2017 examination is all set to fill up 299 posts of Naib Tehsildar, Magistrate and Others in the state. The official notification to fill up the posts was released a year ago on November 29, 2017. ☛ Around 880 candidates have qualified the main examination who will be called for interview by the Commission. 	MORE COMPANIES HAVE REGISTERED FOR RECRUITMENT IN IIT MADRAS: ☛ One of the premier educational institutions in India, Indian Institute of Technology Madras or IIT-M has been playing a huge role in producing high quality professionals in the fields of engineering and technology. This IIT Madras is now making superb news. The number of companies registered for recruitment has increased to 326 now. This is an increase in 20% when compared to the previous year. IIT-M placement season looks promising now. It is known that in the 2017-18 season as many as 270 companies visited IIT-M campus for recruitment. ☛ Many traditional recruiters such as Microsoft, Qualcomm, Goldmann Sachs etc would be visiting IIT-M for recruitment. In addition to these companies IIT-M would also be visited by many prominent companies like Bain and Company, Nomura, Ather Energy and Jacquar Land Rover etc. It is sensational to mention here that these prominent companies would be visiting IIT-M for recruitment for the first time. From 1st of December 2018 to 8th of December 2018, first phase of campus recruitment would take place in IIT-M. There would be one day break on 5th December. In this year, more than 1300 students have got registered for campus placements and these students belong to different streams. It is worthy to note that for the positions in Asian countries like Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and USA etc as many as 23 companies have advertised international profiles. ☛ Professor Manu Santhanam, advisor, training and placement, IIT-M, expressed his happiness regarding the increase in the recruiters in IIT-M. He highlighted that increase in the number of recruiters indicated the quality of IIT-M students. For phase 1, the companies have offered 490 job profiles. He later spoke about how the number of job profiles for data analytics have increased to 59 this year and how this reflects the present trend in the industry. ☛ He pointed out that in this year 34 percent of the recruiters were from core engineering, research and development sector. There were also recruiters from finance, analytics and consulting sectors and they accounted for 21%. Information and Technology has been doing amazingly now and 32% recruiters belong to this IT sector. The standard of IIT-M has been of high quality and over 50 start-ups expressed their interest in recruiting IITM students. There has been 20% increase in the pre-placement offers or PPOs at IIT-M in this year 2018-19 with 130 pre-placement offers. In a release, IIT-M mentioned that like last year IIT-M would not have a ‘Graveyard slot’ which starts from early hours of day 1 on 1st December from midnight 12 to 6am in the morning. It must be noted that around 30 students have opted for deferred placements as they are either pursuing start-up ventures or planning to apply for higher studies. More>>

Reason: The Medical Council of India (MCI) is yet to notify the revised guidelines for admission to MBBS courses under the disability quota. ☛ The MCI made its draft guidelines public on November 16, inviting suggestions and objections by November 30, which is, importantly, also the last day for submission of NEET application form. ☛ This essentially means that the eligibility of candidates with disabilities will be decided on the basis of draft MCI guidelines that categorises several disabilities as ineligible even as the Supreme Court and high courts have ruled otherwise. ☛ Doctors with Disabilities, a pan-India body of doctors with disabilities, have already written to MCI to extend the last date to fill the NEET-UG 2019-20 form and also allow candidates with disabilities to reconsider their application if they have already registered. 	IIT BOMBAY: ☛ Alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay — Vaswani, Prashant V Iyengar and Chintan S Raikar — launch what they claim to be India’s first advanced personal robot for children called ‘Miko 2’. The robot will help parents in early education, development of children by engaging in ‘playful learning’. ☛ WiFi-operated robot, costing Rs 24,999, will be available from December 15, 2018. “The robot can initiate and hold long conversations with kids. It can impart academic and general knowledge among children. It is powered by a proprietary emotional intelligence engine developed by emotix. This enables the robot to identify and remember the child’s moods and adapt to it,” said co-founder and CEO Sneh Rajkumar Vaswani. ☛ The Miko 2 encompasses a major makeover to its maiden product, Miko launched last year, and the new series of robots can see, hear, sense, express, talk, recognize faces, remember names, sense moods, initiate conversation, and learn form its own environment to develop a bond with the child. ☛ The robot comes with preloaded games, riddles, fun facts, rhymes, music, dance etc and can be loaded with new content. It already knows ICSE curriculum, Storywalker and Amar Chitra Katha stories.
