AADHAR DETAILS NOT MANDATORY TO WRITE NET:

    9/19/2018 12:00:00 AM
AADHAAR NOT MANDATORY FOR ANY NATIONAL ENTRANCE EXAM, FOR NOW:

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday said unique identification number Aadhaar cannot be made mandatory for any national entrance examination for now.

☛ The interim order was passed by a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra in a challenge to making the 12-digit number mandatory for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 for admission to medical courses.

☛ The court said other forms of identification such as voter ID, passport or ration card can be used to register for or appear in the coming NEET. The last date to submit applications for NEET conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is 9 March.

☛ This means even a candidate who has Aadhaar is not required to produce it for appearing in national entrance tests like NEET.

☛ Apart from sparing NEET candidates from mandatorily furnishing Aadhaar, the interim order also prohibits CBSE, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) from making the unique number mandatory for examinations like Joint Entrance Exam (JEE-Main) and National Eligibility Test (NET) and the Common Admission Test held by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

☛ The court also directed the centre to inform CBSE to follow the order and upload it on its website so that students are better informed. Currently, CBSE is the test delivery partner for most national entrance tests, including JEE-Main, NEET, UGC-NET and Central Teacher Eligibility Test.

☛ Earlier this year, CBSE had issued notifications making Aadhaar must for appearing in several national entrance tests.

☛ “The use of Aadhaar for applicants of UGC-NET(July) 2018 will result in accuracy of applicants’ details. This will also help ascertain identities of applicants at the examination centres in a convenient and hassle-free manner,” CBSE had said in one of its notifications dated 23 February, justifying the use of Aadhaar.

☛ When the announcement for NET was released, it was mentioned that Aadhar card details will be mandatory. However, a lot of objections were raised for this. Subsequently, NTA has announced that Aadhar is not mandatory.

☛ Instead, it has mentioned that any one of the passport number, PAN card number, Bank Savings account number or the ration card detail can be furnished.

DROP IN ADMISSION TO TAMILNADU PRIVATE SCHOOLS UNDER RTE:

    9/19/2018 12:00:00 AM
UNDER RTE,THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS ADMITTED TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS HAS BEEN REDUCED:

CHENNAI: For the first time in the recent years, there has been sudden drop in number of students admitted in private schools under the right of children for free & compulsory education (RTE) act.

☛ This is the first time in the recent years this drop has happened and it has attracted the attention of many now. According to an official data it is now revealed that only 70000 students managed to get admissions in the private schools in TN under the 25 % RTE quota. One important point is record number of applications have been received from the candidates in the state of Tamil Nadu and just 70,000 students got admission. The main reason was due to revision in the admission guideline in this year.

    NOT-ON RIGHT TRACK

☛ “This is because the admission guidelines were revised in this year”. Only those residing within 1km radius of the schools were considered for admission process. The state has sought amount of Rs 99 crore as total reimbursement towards expenditure incurred for 25% admission under the RTE quota in 2015-16. This has been suggested in the SSA or Samagara Shiksha Abhiyan project approval board meeting. The amount that has been sanctioned by the HRD ministry or central government was just Rs 27.6 crores.

RTE Activist, Mr. Eswaran expressed his thoughts and spoke about how if the seats remain vacant then other states like Maharashtra increase the radius to 3km or 5km. He explained how government cannot cite funds shortage as a reason to revise guidelines when there is a provision. To make the scheme more efficient, the government can fix the loopholes in admitting the students belonging to SC/ST/BC/MBC groups. He spoke about how the students become eligible only after submitting their community certificates.

☛ It is important to note that as per section 12 (1)(c) of RTE Act, 25% seats in the private schools are reserved for the students having age between 8 and 14, belonging to weaker sections(having an annual income of less than Rs 2 lakhs) and disadvantaged groups. If RTE Act doesn’t accept KG admissions, then the state must instruct the private schools to readmit the students in class 1. The applications could be submitted for the reimbursement. This was also confirmed by Mr.Eswaran.

11th STANDARD PUBLIC EXAM MARKS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED-SCHOOL EDUCATION MINISTER:

    9/19/2018 12:00:00 AM
TAMILNADU PLUS ONE EXAM MARKS NOT BE COUNTED FOR HIGHER EDUCATION:

☛ The Tamil Nadu State government minister for School Education. K. A. Sengottaiyan has made an important announcement that the reduced marks for the +2 Public Examination and the marks scored in 11th Standard will not be considered.

The minister had informed that the marks scored in the 11th Standard will not be considered for the total assessment.

☛ From the next academic year, it would be just sufficient with the marks scored in 12th standard for pursuing higher education.

☛ Further, as well-known, the total marks for assessment for 12th Public Examinations has been reduced from 1200 to 600. There will not be any certificate integrating the marks obtained in the 11th and 12th Standards. They will be issued separately.

☛ This decision has been taken following the general complaint put forward by the 11th Standard students that the lessons are rather tough, and also the observation that the mental tension builds-up during the preparation/writing of the 10th, 11th, and 12th Standard Public Examinations.

☛ Accordingly, the Public Examinations will be conducted for 11th Standard. But, while pursuing higher education, the marks for the 11th standard Public Examination will not be considered.

SUBJECT-WISE STRATEGY AND IMPORTANT TOPICS FOR PREPARTION:

    1. MATHEMATICS: To master this area, you need to combine skills with strategy. This section tests your ability to interpret and comprehend graphical data and then answer the questions that follow.

It is essential that you need to have an idea of all the types of questions that are asked so that you can attempt them in the correct manner.

Important topics: BODMAS, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Time and Work, Percentage, Compound Interest and Simple Interest, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry.

    2. REASONING ABILITY: The Reasoning Section, being a vast section, comprised of a number of topics. This section is considered both challenging and exciting part by most aspirants. The only way to excel in reasoning section is developing an in-depth understanding of logic and regular practice.

Important topics: Analogy, Classification, Blood Relation, Direction, Analytical, Reasoning, Syllogism, Statement Argument and Assumption.

    3. GENERAL SCIENCE: The preparation for science and technology section is quite different. Piling up a huge stock of books and resources available in the market and cramming them is NOT a solution.

Mostly, all of the questions from science and technology section are analytical/conceptual in nature.

A lot of them hold relevance because of the events going on around us. So, current affairs across the world go in-sync with your conceptual knowledge. All you need here is the right approach.

Important topics: Classification, Life Processes, Ecology, Sources of Energy, Reproduction, Acid Bases and Salts, Metals and Non-Metals, Chemical Reactions, Units and Measurement, Heat, Force, Electricity and Magnetism, Gravitation.

    4. GENERAL AWARENESS: Most candidates are able to secure good marks in this section but there are a significant number of questions which candidates might find confusing. Watch current affair videos daily, read PDFs and newspapers and note down important points and revise them on a regular basis.

Maximum questions in this section are generally asked from the topics on current affairs in science and technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and any other subject of importance.

EIGHT QUICK TIPS TO GET A HIGH SCORE:

1.Remember you are practicing to crack only the CBT or Computer Based Test. Therefore keep your focus clear and crisp.

2.Learn from your mistakes each time you attempt a mock test.

3.Try to avoid the same mistakes and try to understand by viewing the method or explanation for the correct answer.

4."The more the merrier", is a quote apt in every stage of life, but most applicable during exam practice. The more you practice the less are the chances that you will make a mistake in the actual RRB Group D 2018 exam.

5.Avoid stress while practicing. It is necessary to practice, but it is also necessary not to practice too much. If practicing is causing stress, then try to move back to learning and switch to another subject.

6.Try to answer questions you know the answers to while you are practicing.

7.Analyse your correct and wrongly attempted questions. Understand the reasons mentioned in the explanation or solutions.

8.Decrease the time taken to attempt each mock test.
