CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2020: Tips to score above 95 in Physical Education

    12/9/2019 12:00:00 AM
Once you are done with the question paper, revise it thoroughly and highlight the important points and technical terms and try to find out some mistakes as this is the most important part of your exam

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct Class 12 board exams 2020 from the month of February or March. CBSE has not yet declared the date sheet of Class 12 board exams 2020 on the official website.Last year, CBSE conducted the Class 12 Physical Education Board Exam on March 30 in various centres across the nation. Physical Education is not one of the main subjects for all the streams but many students choose the subject as an optional one.

Read, learn and clear your all doubts with the help of the subject teacher and practice different types of questions related to a particular topic. Apart from all regular classes, one must spare time for self-study in Physical Education.

Manage your time properly. While making your time table, divide your Physical Education syllabus into small parts along with all your core subjects. If you are focusing on a particular topic, remember that the objective must be clear and the outcome is equally important which you expect from your study sessions.

During the first 15 minutes, read and understand the question paper carefully. Try to attempt questions in a proper sequence.

Write your answers using proper sub-heading or points.

Use a black pen for writing heading and sub-headings. Do not use a red or green pen in nay case.

Draw diagrams, charts, etc in support of your answers to gain more marks.

Always write the introduction and conclusion for your answers especially for a three and five marks question.

Draw an end line after every answer and start the next answer from the new page.

Pay attention to the proper numbering of your answer. Sometimes improper numbering may lead to the deduction of marks.

Government proposes Common Eligibility Test (CET) to recruit Group B, Group C public sector vacancies

    12/4/2019 12:00:00 AM
According to a latest government data, of the total of 6, 83,823 vacant posts in central government departments, 5, 74,289 are in Group C, 89,638 in Group B and 19,896 in Group A category, as on March 1, 2018

In a major move, the Centre has proposed that all recruitment for Group B and C posts be done by a specialised agency through a single examination -- the Common Eligibility Test (CET).The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts civil services examination annually to select officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFoS), besides other Group A and Group B (gazetted) services.Besides it, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) also does recruitment for central government departments -- mainly to select staff for Group B posts.

Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said the proposed move will provide a level playing field for all regardless of their background besides being cost-effective both for those appearing in the examination and the government agencies conducting it.The ministry has sought response from ministries/departments of government of India, state governments/Union territories administrations and public/ stakeholders, "particularly candidates aspiring to join government/public sector jobs" within one month.According to a latest government data, of the total of 6, 83,823 vacant posts in central government departments, 5, 74,289 are in Group C, 89,638 in Group B and 19,896 in Group A category, as on March 1, 2018.

The proposal will mitigate the hardship faced by candidates who have to appear for multiple examinations conducted by multiple agencies, where similar eligibility conditions have been prescribed. It will also reduce the time taken in the selection process and "facilitate employment generation". There shall be common registration of candidates through an online portal, the ministry said giving details of the proposal. To begin with, separate CETs shall be conducted for graduate, higher secondary (class 12-pass) and matriculate (class 10-pass) candidates for non-technical posts, for which recruitment is currently carried through the SSC, the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

Besides, candidates will not have to pay multiple application fees and also save travelling cost incurred to appear in these examinations. Such test will improve access to rural candidates by setting up at least one test centre in every district and to facilitate candidates to schedule tests and choose an examination centre of their choice.

CBSE Class 10th, 12th exam pattern, marking scheme

    12/4/2019 12:00:00 AM
From introducing two-level maths to a lesser number of questions, here are some recent initiatives taken by the CBSE to make board exams 2020 stress-free for students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will make significant changes in class 10 and class 12 board exams from this year onwards, the Parliament was informed on Monday. Answering a question in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) said the ‘Board has taken many measures to make students stress-free‘.CBSE, informed the HRD minister, provides pre and post examination tele counselling facilities through the centralised toll-free helpline. Students can also log on to http://www.cbse.nic.in and interact on exam related issues. The Board has published material on how to be stress-free and various techniques to avoid anxiety.

    1. Changes in question paper: Students will get an additional 15 minutes for reading the question paper before they begin to write the answers. The question paper will also have 33 per cent options and more questions on higher-order thinking skills in comparison to questions based on rote memorisation. This, said Pokhriyal, will ensure a shift from content-based testing to problem-solving and competency-based testing.

    2. Internal assessment: Instead of being of 100 marks, the theory exams will be for 80 marks. Internal assessment will amount to 20 marks in total in subjects where there is no practical assessment. While for those having practical exams, the marks allotted to the theory were already lesser. This has also changed the passing marks criteria of the board, subsequently. The CBSE has already released the practical examination schedule.

    3. Lesser number of questions: To ensure that students do not find the paper to be too lengthy to complete in the stipulated time of three hours, the board has also reduced the number of questions. CBSE has also provided internal choices for students in at least 33 per cent questions in all major subjects, the Lok Sabha was informed.

    4. Change in marking scheme: The Board will give priority to creative, correct and relevant answers given by students other than the ones mentioned in the marking scheme. This has been done to encourage students to have better conceptual understanding and to be able to overcome issues related to rote-learning and rote-evaluation, the minister said.

    5. Two-level mathematics: The board has decided to introduce two levels of examination in Mathematics for the students of Class 10 to cater for different kinds of learners and allow different levels of testing; this also aims to reduce overall student stress levels.
