    3/16/2020 12:00:00 AM
The university further said that classes have already been suspended till March 31 "which may be further extended if the epidemic is not contained"

As a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Jamia Millia Islamia has advised its students to consider returning to their homes."The way the threat is progressing in the city, places of collective gathering like library, mess, canteens etc. in Jamia are likely to be closed down as precautionary measures. Therefore, it is advised to all the students to understand the seriousness of the prevailing circumstances and for their own safety. "Most of the universities and institutions have been closed down to restrict the progression of the disease. It is beyond the capacity of the university to take commensurate measures and contain this danger," the university said."The places of large gatherings like hostels, dining halls, libraries and kitchens are all highly vulnerable and susceptible to the threat. The idea is not to indulge in any kind of fear psychosis. However, it is being impressed upon all the students of the dangerous nature of the threat," the advisory stated.

The council has indentified about 250 sensitive areas across the state. Maharashtra school department plans an education fest

    3/10/2020 12:00:00 AM
Candidates should read the recruitment notification carefully before applying to know other details and instructions

The Maharashtra School Education department has found itself in a tight corner by scheduling a festival before March 20, right in the midst of ongoing Class 10 and 12 board exams. In a government resolution issued on March 2, the department asked all schools to organise an education festival, comprising of stalls and activities, by March 16 at the taluka level and March 20 at the district level. The Class 10 and 12 exams are scheduled to end on March 23.

Former education minister and senior BJP leader Vinod Tawde lashed out and said the decision was indicative of the lack of planning and execution in the department. "Instead of stopping copying incidents, the school education department is interested in holding festivals. This is also injustice on teachers. It should accept its mistake and plan the festival in a better way for next year. I used to plan the festival five months in advance when I was minister," Tawde said.

Check here for a systematic study approach

    3/3/2020 12:00:00 AM
Eating healthy is very important when studying as it helps us to be active. Fast food on the other hand would make us sluggish and give us a feeling of bloating up. It is also hard to digest

Students today are much more stressed than we ever were during our time. It is not just the increase in the level of competition, but the distractions around them have increased substantially. How many times we, as adults catch ourselves throughout the day picking up our phones checking for mails and also updates on Twitter and Facebook?

The beep or the ring of the notification however mild is enough to take the entire focus away from academics during revision time. We might think that the notifications only take a few seconds of our attention away from the task, but its impact lasts longer.

Even though all subjects are to be given equal importance, it would be more fruitful to give more time to those subjects that the student finds harder to understand. The effort should be made to bring all subjects at par with each other. If a timetable for systematic study is made and we stick to it come what may, we would find it easier to finish our revisions faster as we wouldn't be wasting our time thinking about the subjects that need our attention more.

Whenever we feel tired it is better to take a break. As when the energy begins to fade, our ability to focus will decrease along with it and we might find ourselves succumbing to distractions like social media more often. But the breaks we take should not be erratic but systematic. Giving our brain a rest from study will allow us to come back to our tasks re-energized and with a sharper focus.

    Top tips to learn Physics

    3/2/2020 12:00:00 AM
Check out these Class 12 Physics board exam tips for Physics expert and maestro DC Pandey

Physics is considered a difficult subject, especially for NEET aspirants. This does not imply that students can’t score well. DC Pandey, a Physics maestro who has written over 13 reference books on the subject and is now an Unacademy educator, believes that one can score good marks in Physics if it is studied in a well-managed and planned way. So let go of any anxiety related to preparing Physics for your board exams and check out the helpful tips below.

It is a fact that Physics taught in classes 10 and 12 is easier than what is tested in competitive exams. In school exams, theoretical problems based on definitions and proofs comprise the question paper while in competitive exams, conceptual questions are framed as it is a subject of concepts.

Around 90% of Physics consists of concepts that first need to be understood. Rather than beginning with the common approach of problems first, always start by reading and understanding the concepts. While memorising formulae is important, it is crucial to understand what each formula is. This will help in applying the right one in the right place. For example, there is one formula of gravitational force between two point masses given by Newton and it can be applied directly only in 3 specific conditions. I have seen the students applying this formula under all situations -- which is wrong. Though direct questions are rarely asked (except the graphs) in following three topics but again they are very important for the right understanding of other topics. If you have command over these three topics, believe me, you have learnt the next 5% of Physics. These topics are: The best way to study is to buy one standard book and learn it thoroughly.
