SSC CGL 2017 final result to be out today

    11/15/2019 12:00:00 AM
The SSC CGL 2017 final result is supposed to be declared today, November 15, 2019, at ssc.nic.in after a delay of two and a half years. Here’s how you can check your results and why it got delayed for so long

The SSC CGL 2017 final result is supposed to be declared today, November 15, 2019, at ssc.nic.in after a delay of two and a half years thanks to paper leak issues and malpractices discovered around the exam conduction. Candidates who had appeared for the CGLE 2017 have been calling for the final results on social media. The SSC CGL 2017 Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III result along with the list of candidates who qualified for the document verification and skill test were declared on May 9, 2019. The Supreme Court had paved the way for the declaration of the SSC CGL 2017 final results by vacating its stay on it from an August 2018 order.

On August 26, 2019, an official notification by the SSC said that the SSC CGL 2017 candidates had been calling for the immediate release of final results and that answers were being given to them promptly.Yet another official notification was released by the SSC in September 2019 declaring that the SSC CGL 2017 final results will be tentatively declared on November 15, 2019.

In early November, a fresh plea was filed in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the issuing of joining letters to the selected candidates of 'tainted' SSC combined graduate level examination (CGLE) of 2017, till the apex court-appointed committee submits its report. The top court had constituted a 7-member committee to suggest measures to make entrance exams meant for jobs and admissions in educational institutions fool proof.

Common errors many CAT aspirants make

    11/11/2019 12:00:00 AM
Here are the common errors many CAT aspirants make while giving the exam

The first step is obviously clearing CAT and the aspirants would do well to stay clear of tripwires and trapdoors. This article will help the candidates to keep in mind the 10 common errors they can make.Unlike most other exams, B-schools using CAT scores are not looking for you to score a certain pre-determined score. They look for the percentile rank, i.e., students who score more than others. If you set a target of a minimum number of marks that you want to score, then you can be under pressure if you fail to reach the same in case of a tougher paper, and be complacent in case of an easier paper.

Negative marking is an insidious danger in CAT and the attendant belief that more questions attempted equal more marks is a sure shot recipe for disaster! Two factors determine the score obtained - Number of Attempts & Accuracy. These two are not exclusive of each other - focusing solely on one will result in a drop in the other. Therefore, the target of the students should be to improve both at the same time.In all likelihood, most test-takers would be answering around 60 to 70 questions of the 100. With such a large chunk of questions unanswered, it would be downright stupidity to skip questions without reading them but this is precisely what the majority of test-takers do.

The most important part of the CAT exam is the question because it directs you to the task at hand. Quite a few questions are likely to be convoluted or plain tricky. The danger here is when aspirants misunderstand or pre-judge a question either because it's a blind spot or because it is presumed otherwise.
