GUJARAT POLICE CONSTABLE RECRUITMENT EXAM CANCELLED AFTER QUESTION PAPER LEAK:

    12/3/2018 12:00:00 AM
GUJARAT POLICE CONSTABLE RECRUITMENT EXAM CANCELLED:

Ahmedabad: A written exam for recruitment of Gujarat police constables was on Sunday cancelled hours before it was scheduled to commence after authorities learnt that the paper had got leaked, an official said. As many as 8.75 lakh candidates were scheduled to appear for the exam which was to start at 3 pm at 2440 centres across Gujarat, the official said.

☛ Taking cognisance of the incident, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has directed the state Home department to take immediate action whereas the opposition Congress has demanded setting up of an SIT under a sitting high court judge while alleging that "people of the ruling party" are behind the incident.

☛ The examination was called off hours before it was scheduled to start after it came to light that the question paper was leaked, said Vikas Sahay, chairman of the Lokrakshak Recruitment Board (LRB), the body that conducts the examination.

☛ "Somebody sent me a list of answers, and they were answers to the questions set for the examination. We called off the examination as it was clear that the paper had been leaked," Sahay said, adding that a police probe would be instituted into the issue.

☛ "So far, we have no information as to where the paper got leaked from. We had set up strong rooms with CCTV cameras and security guards in every district to store the papers," he added. The opposition Congress took the opportunity to attack the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and demanded a probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

☛ Senior Congress leader and party's national spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil said the state government was "playing with the future of the youth". "As per our information, people from the ruling party are behind this," Gohil said.

☛ "It is only when the matter is investigated by an SIT under a sitting HC judge that we can expect the culprits to get punished for putting the youth to such hardship. Only then can we expect that such incidents do not recur in future," he said. For his part, the chief minister directed the Home department to take immediate action, a government release said.

☛ Rupani also announced that "the Lokrakshak examiners will be given to-and-fro state transport bus fares from their homes to the examination centres by the state government when the exam will be re-conducted," it said.

QUESTION PAPERS PREPARED FOR THE PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS:

    12/3/2018 12:00:00 AM
    QUESTION PAPERS PREPARED:

☛ The list of the question papers for the public examinations to be conducted for 10th Standard, +1 and +2 classes are ready. The final question paper will be decided within a month.

☛ Under the Tamil Nadu State Government, public examinations are conducted for the classes from 10th Standard to +2. Out of this, as regards +1 public examination, it is just sufficient for the candidates to pass. However, as regards the 10th Standard Public examination, the students can get their preferred elective subjects only if they score high marks. Similarly, the +2 students can pursue their higher education based on the marks obtained in their +2 public examinations.

☛ The activity of collecting the students’ personal data including name, etc., who would write the public examinations in the current academic year has been completed. After this, the activity for preparing a similar list for the private candidates will be taken up.

☛ From this year, the examinations for the private candidates will be conducted only during March and June. The examinations, usually held in October until now, have been cancelled.

☛ In this scenario, the Tamil Nadu State Examination Board has completed the task of making the list of candidates writing the public examinations. The high-quality and experienced teachers throughout Tamil Nadu have helped prepare the list of the questions to be asked in the public examinations.

☛ More than 10 questions have been prepared for each lesson in the various lessons of the subjects. Subsequently, the State Examination Board will decide the question paper by taking them from this list or from others, as required. According to the Department Officials, the final question papers will be made ready printed in the government press within a month’s time and kept safe and confidential.

☛ It is gathered that the question papers for the classes from 10th Standard to +2 classes may not be very difficult but they would be testing the intelligence and understanding skill of the student.

☛ The students have been strongly advised to study in detail all the model question papers and the questions given at the end of each lesson and also the entire important features of each lesson. This is because the Examination Board Circles have informed that new questions may be asked from any part of the lessons in various subjects.

    12/1/2018 12:00:00 AM
NO INTERNAL MARKS FOR PRIVATE CANDIDATES:

☛ The state government examination board has announced that there would be no ‘internal marks’ awarded for the private candidates writing the +1 Public Examinations.

☛ As per the Tamil Nadu state education plan, the public examination was introduced for the students of +1 from the year 2017. It was also announced in the initial stages that marks obtained both in +1 and +2 public examinations will be combined and considered. However, this proposal was changed subsequently and withdrawn stating that only a pass in +1 pubic examination is sufficient.

☛ In a similar trend, it was declared mandatory for the private candidates interested in writing the Public Examinations without attending school classes to write the +1 Public Examinations as well. The rules and regulations regarding this have been released by the State Examination Board. Accordingly, the private candidates writing +1 public examination can write examinations only on subjects without practicals.

☛ The private candidates must be above the age of 15 years and 6 months. There are no ‘internal marks` for these private candidates. For them, the marks obtained in the written examination for a total of 89, will be calculated as for 100 marks. Even if these private candidates fail in the +1 public examinations, they will still be permitted to write the +2 public examinations as well! However, the failed candidates will have to rewrite and pass in the failed subjects. Till then, only mark sheets will be given and no certificates will be given.

☛ The above rules and regulations can be accessed on the website -http://www.dge.tn.gov.in.

ANOTHER QUESTION PAPER GOOF UP AT ANNA UNIVERSITY SHOCKS MANY STUDENTS:

    11/30/2018 12:00:00 AM
ANOTHER QUESTION PAPER GOOF UP AT ANNA UNIVERSITY:

☛ Chennai based Anna University has been making news for wrong reasons in the recent times. Earlier 538 colleges belonging to Anna university got question paper for Opto Electronic Devices subject and Part B was repetition of previous year question paper plus 5 questions in part A were also repeated is known. The latest news that has come out is another question paper goof up has been brought out by the students. On 20th of November 2018 the students belonging to the third year of Electronics and Communication Engineering or ECE of MIT or Madras Institute of Technology belonging to Anna University wrote examinations. It was found out that a 13 mark question was missing from the question paper that was distributed to these students.

☛ The Discrete Time Signal Processing is an important paper of ECE and the students who wrote this paper were shocked to find that Part B of this question paper that should have 5( either/or) questions had just 4 questions and question numbers 13(a) and 13(b) were missing in that question paper. The students who were confused regarding the question paper informed the exam hall invigilators and these invigilators then alerted ACOE or Additional Controller of Examinations.

☛ It must be taken into account that halfway through the examinations the students were given separate pieces of papers having the missed question. The authorities belonging to ACOE stated that in the previous evening they have spotted the error during the review of the question paper and rectified it for the College of Engineering, Guindy. They also revealed that they were not able to rectify it for MIT as the question papers had to be sent the previous evening.

☛ Deputy controller of examinations, MIT, Mr. Baskar later spoke about how there was a technical glitch when the question paper setter converted the word into PDF. He pointed out that question number 13(a) in the last line of the page1 got deleted as it went beyond the margin. It was later clarified by the authorities belonging to ACOE that the printouts having the missing question were sent much earlier and the MIT faculties did not distribute it to the students until the students alerted them. The teaching faculty who had set the ‘Discrete Time Signal processing’ question paper for the third year ECE students did not comment. The students did not have time to answer the question and they had requested for grace marks.

☛ This petition came up for enquiry today (Thursday, 29th November). The judges gave the verdict that the students over 25 years of age can also register to write NEET. Accordingly, the Supreme Court has ordered an extension of the last date to register by a week’s time in order to facilitate interested students of over 25 years of age to register. The judges remarked that this above age exemption is subject to the final verdict of the petition against CBSE.
