    MBA ENTRANCE EXAM ANNOUNCED:

    ☛ The entrance examinations for the post-graduate courses such as MBA and M. Pharm. have been announced.

    ☛ It is mandatory for the candidates interested in pursuing higher level courses such as MBA in the educational institutions approved by the authority AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) to write and pass the ‘CMAT’ (Common Management Admission Test) entrance examination.

    ☛ In a similar approach, it is mandatory for the candidates pursuing courses such as M. Pharm. to write and pass in the ‘GPAT’ (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) entrance examination.

    The National Testing Academy (NTA) has just announced the entrance examinations as mentioned above for the students in the next academic year.

    ☛ It has been announced that both CMAT and GPAT are scheduled to be conducted on 28th January. The online registration for this commenced yesterday (Thursday, 1st November). The last date for the online registration is 30th November.

    NEET ONLINE REGISTRATION STARTS FROM NOVEMBER 1:

    NEET ONLINE REGISTRATION:

    National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for the academic year 2019 will begin on November 1. NEET being the gateway for MBBS and BDS courses applicants can register at the official website,nta.ac.in from Thursday. The admit card can be availed from NTA website in the month of April.

    ☛ Two hour written test in Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences (biology, zoology and botany) will be conducted on May 5, 2019. The results are planned to declare by June 5, 2019 followed by the admission sessions throughout the country.

    NTA- National Testing Agency is a newly formed body under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Contrary to the earlier announcement the entrance exams for the year 2019 will be conducted only on offline mode. The registration for NEET 2019 ends on November 30, 2018.

    ☛ A statement was made on July 7, 2018 about the admission test changing the mode to computer based for the next academic year. Against the statement the exam pattern was retained like the previous year completely offline in pen and paper format. Same number of languages will be maintained for this year like the previous year in terms with the request of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

    ☛ There are some key criterions for NEET based medical courses admissions. The applicants should be in age limit between 17 years and 25 years calculated on the date of examination, May 5, 2019. Students applying for the exams should have completed a full time course in in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Biotechnology) at the intermediate level. Also there is no limit for number of attempts.

    ☛ For the year 2019 the agency has announced that Aadhaar card is not necessary for the registration purposes. Students can select the city and the state in coherent with the languages.

    ☛ The University examinations, which were earlier scheduled to be held by the Chennai University, on 5th November, have been postponed to be held on 7th December.

    ☛ In a notification by the Chennai University Registrar Srinivasan, it is informed that the state government of Tamil Nadu has declared a holiday on Monday, 5th November, the day before the Deepavali festival.

    ☛ So, the university examinations which were originally scheduled on 5th November have now been postponed to 7th December.

    ☛ Staff Selection Commission, SSC has declared the list of candidates for appointment as Sub Inspector in Delhi Police, CAPF & ASI in CISF, 2017. Candidates who appeared in written examination can check the detailed result by visiting the official site of SSC at ssc.nic.in.

    ☛ SSC SI 2017 was conducted from July 1, 2017 to July 7, 2017 to recruit candidates for SI posts. The result of Paper I was declared by the Commission on September 6, 2017. Paper II was conducted on December 15, 2017 and the result of which was declared on January 29, 2018. Candidates who qualified the examination were called for medical examination and further for documents verification.

    ☛ A total of 5076 candidates, out of which 4221 male candidates and 855 female candidates are shortlisted for document verification.

    Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test, GPAT 2019 registration will begin from today onwards. Candidates who are interested in pursuing Masters in Pharmacy programme can appear for GPAT 2019 exam. The examination will be conducted by National Testing Agency, NTA across the country.     GPAT 2019 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

    ☛ To apply for GPAT 2019 examination, candidates must be a citizen of India. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates). The final year students of B.Pharmacy course are also eligible to apply for the exam.

    ☛ GPAT exam duration is three hours and it is a computer based online examination. The GPAT score are accepted by colleges, institutes and universities for M.Pharma courses.

    CMAT 2019: Common Management Admission Test, CMAT 2019 registrations are scheduled to begin from today on the official website of National Testing Agency, NTA – nta.ac.in. Candidates interested in applying for MBA programs in the state run universities or institutes affiliated to AICTE are required to qualify the CMAT examination. The online application forms are expected to release today after 10 am on nta.ac.in. Check important dates, eligibility and how to apply here.

    ☛ Till 2018, CMAT and GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) was conducted by All India Council of Technical Education – AICTE. After the launch of NTA, the responsibility of conducting these exams were shifted to NTA. NTA in turn would be organising the examination, facilitating the admit cards, conducting the examination and declaring the results.

    NEET 2019 Notification update: Officials at the National Testing Agency have confirmed that the NEET 2019 online application forms would begin at 12 noon on ntaneet.nic.in and nta.ac.in. Candidates are advised to check the official website for updates.

    ☛ National Testing Agency, NTA would soon release the information bulletin for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2019. The notification would be available on the official websites nta.ac.in and ntaneet.nic.in. Students interested in applying for MBBS and BDS Courses in various medical and dental colleges in the country – or abroad, are required to appear for the examination and accordingly fill the form.

    SBI SO 2018 SELECTION PROCESS:

    ☛ The selection of the candidates will be based on shortlisting and interview.

    Interview: Mere fulfilling minimum qualification and experience will not vest any right in candidate for being called for interview. The Shortlisting Committee constituted by the Bank will decide the shortlisting parameters and thereafter, adequate number of candidates, as decided by the Bank will be shortlisted and called for interview. The decision of the bank to call the candidates for the interview shall be final. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

    Merit List: Merit list for selection will be prepared in descending order on the basis of scores obtained in interview only. In case more than one candidate score the cut-off marks (common marks at cut-off point), such candidates will be ranked according to their age in descending order, in the merit.

    96-YEAR-OLD PASSES KERALA LITERACY TEST, SCORE 98/100 MARKS:

    96-YEAR-OLD PASSES KERALA LITERACY TEST:

    ☛ A true learner always looks for gaining knowledge at any age. This saying goes best for 96-year-old Karthiyani Amma who has cleared a test under Kerala’s literacy programme with a whopping percentage. Oldest student among her classmates, Amma scored 98 out of 100 marks in the ‘Aksharalaksham’ literacy programme. In the exam, reading, writing and mathematical skills were tested.

    ☛ About 42,993 candidates have cleared the test this year, as per news agency ANI. Amma hails from Alappuzha, Cheppad and got 38 marks out of the total of 40 in writing and full marks in the other two.

    ☛ Karthiyani had never been to school as she was working as a domestic help and a cleaning staff. Her daughter Amminiamma, 51, inspired her mother to join the classes. Amminiamma who is also a school dropout managed to clear the examination with was equivalent to a tenth standard course. She also aims at continuing her studies further.

    ☛ As per reports, a function is scheduled at Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday where Karthyayani will be receiving a merit certificate from the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Karthiyani caught the attention on social media when Anand Mahindra, shared her picture of attending the examination this year.

    ☛ The total pass percentage of the examination remained high at 99.084 per cent. There were 37,166 women of the total candidates who cleared the first phase of the examination.

    ☛ VHSE Kerala has released the results of Plus one or First Year improvement examination’s revaluation today, November 1. All the students who had appeared in the improvement or supplementary examinations can check the results through the official websites keralaresults.nic.in. The examination was conducted in July but due to severe flood situation, some of the papers were postponed to October.

    DHSE KERALA PLUS ONE RESULTS 2018: STEPS TO CHECK:

    Step 1: Visit the official websites mentioned above.

    Step 2: On the homepage, under the ‘Examination’ tab, click on Revaluation, Scrutiny Result – I year Improvement.

    Step 3: A pdf will open and you can check your exam result.

    Step 4: Download the pdf and save it for future reference.

    ☛ Vocational Higher Secondary Examination (VHSE) annual exam result for first year was released in May. The overall pass percentage for HSE exams was 83.75 per cent and a total of 3.09 lakh students passed the exam. A total of 180 students secured 1200 scores out of 1200 in all the subjects and 14,375 students secured A-plus grade in all the subjects.

    MINIMUM MARKS IN ENTRANCE EXAM IS SET BY AU:

    ☛ The latest news is minimum marks has been introduced in the entrance test by the Anna University or AU for the PhD scholars to qualify for the interview. The main purpose of this is to improve the quality of research scholars entering into the various departments of the university and engineering colleges. It is now said that as per the new regulations a candidate has to score 40 marks out of total 100 marks in the entrance test and need to be selected by the interview committee to be enrolled as a research scholar. It is worthy to mention that at present there are around 13000 PhD scholars who are pursuing research at Anna University plus in other affiliated colleges of Anna University.

    ☛ The entrance test has been in the process for several years but no minimum marks were prescribed by the university till now. One important point is guides usually prefer certain candidates and these candidates enrol themselves as research scholar. This has resulted in the research standards becoming low. The new regulations would bring down the enrolment of research scholars into the engineering institutions and this was confirmed by few professors.

    ☛ President, Anna University teachers Association, Mr. Arul Aram expressed his opinion and said the quality of education would increase definitely now. He then added that for a quality PhD certain level of prerequisite knowledge from a PhD candidate is important. He explained how mediocre input would lead only to mediocre output and how there is no point in producing mediocre PhDs.

    ☛ The sensational piece of news is there would be no more MS (Research) programmes as the university has done away with this programme that was there for many years. There would not be any candidates admitted in this above programme when the existing students finish their degrees. It was revealed by the professors that MS (Research) programme does not have any job prospects as it was not recognised equivalent to M. Tech or M.E programmes.

    ☛ Vice-chancellor of Anna University, professor Surappa, spoke about how minimum standards have been brought now for the research scholars and how the scholars have to pass the entrance exam and appear for an interview. He further added that interview committee would select the candidates.

    ☛ As many as 2000 candidates wrote the entrance test recently and those candidates who have qualified would be called for an interview that would begin from 3rd of November 2018. This move would bring down the number of research scholars in 4 campuses of Anna University. When questioned about whether it would affect the university’s rankings, professor Surappa replied that it would not affect as it is linked with the quality of research and the number of citations. He added that Anna University has already got large number of research scholars and quality would be reduced if more research scholars are present. Few professors were of the view that AU does not have the same infrastructures of IITs. The vice-chancellor of AU professor Surappa spoke about the need to build adequate infrastructure for the sake of high quality research activities.

    NATA ENTRANCE TEST FOR B.Arch COURSES:

    ☛ NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), the entrance examination for pursuing courses in Architecture, is scheduled to be conducted twice a year from the next academic year.

    ☛ In this regard, the Chairman of All India Architectural Council, Vijay Garg, informed that in order to pursue the 5-years graduate course in Architecture, it is mandatory for the candidates to write and pass in NATA.

    ☛ Until now, NATA was conducted once a year. However, from the next academic year 2019-20, it will be conducted twice a year.

    ☛ The candidates who secured a minimum of 50% in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in +2 are eligible to write NATA. The test NATA will be of 3 hours duration including ‘Aptitude’ and ‘Drawing’.

    ☛ The State Government Department of School Education has introduced the regulation that henceforth, the candidates for the posts of computer teachers must have completed post-graduation.

    ☛ However, the existing teachers had already raised objection for this proposal. The subject of Computer Science was introduced in the Government Schools in 1994. During the initial periods, the Diploma holders in Computer Science were appointed as teachers of Computer Science for the classes of +1 and +2.

    ☛ Subsequently, the course of B. Sc. (Computer Science) was introduced. Hence, the candidates who had compiled B. Sc. (Computer Science) and B. Ed. Were appointed as Computer teachers. On this basis, there are presently 765 teachers employed.

    ☛ However, as there is a regulation that only postgraduates can be appointed as Computer Science teachers for +1 and +2 classes, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has now taken a new decision. Accordingly, to fill up the current 809 vacancies for Computer Science Teachers, only postgraduates in Computer Science will be selected.

    ☛ The existing teachers have protested this decision. Led by the General Secretary of the Higher Secondary Schools Senior Computer Science Teachers’ Association, Parasuraman, they presented a petition in this regard to the state School Education Minister, K. A. Sengottaiyan and the officials.

    ☛ However, the officials explained that many non-graduates worked as computer teachers for several years. Once the degree course was introduced for Computer Science, the candidates who completed this graduate course were appointed as Computer Science Teachers. Accordingly, as a natural sequence or development, now the postgraduates in Computer Science are set to be selected as Computer Science Teachers. Thus, there are no prospects for the graduate teachers to be accorded the senior status.

    ☛ It has been announced that the Join Entrance Examination (Advanced) for the +2 students to join IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) is scheduled to be conducted on 19th May.The +2 students, who are interested in joining the IITs, have to write and pass 2 stages of entrance examinations.

    National Testing Agency (NTA) is organizing the JEE (Preliminary). JEE for the current academic year is scheduled to be conducted by NTA from 6th to 20th January and then from 6th April to 20th April.

    ☛ Out of this schedule, the online registration for January Examinations got completed and filled during September. The registration for the 2nd series of JEE commences in 8th February. If the candidates appear and pass in any one of the above 2 JEE Preliminary, they can participate in the JEE Advanced Test.

    RRB ALP RESULTS 2018 FOR FIRST STAGE CBT ON NOVEMBER 5, 2nd STAGE CBT FROM 19th:

    Mumbai: Railway Recruitment Board, RRB would soon be releasing the RRB ALP Result 2018 for the First Stage CBT. As per the reports, the railways are expected to release the results on or before November 5, 2018. Reports also suggest that the RRB ALP & Technician Recruitment 2018 Second Stage CBT would be commencing from November 19, 2018. Results for the RRB ALP & Technician 2018 First Stage CBT would be available on the regional RRB Websites.

    ☛ Candidates are advised to note that the results would be announced on November 5 or before the date. Railways have issued an official notification regarding the same as well which can be checked on the link provided here. Candidates are accordingly advised to keep a look out on the official website for the same.

    ☛ RRBs have also released the complete syllabus for the Exam Trades Syllabus has also been released by the RRBs for the Second Stage CBT.     Mumbai: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, IBPS has announced the results for IBPS PO Prelims 2018 examination. The results for the preliminary examination conducted on October 13 and 14 have now been declared and would be available on official website from late evening today. Candidates can check the result status on the official website ibps.in. Steps to check the results and direct link is provided below. Please note the result has been announced at present. Would only be visible from late evening today. Direct Link would be activated once available.

    ☛ Candidates would require their registration number to access the results. Also, the scores of the examination would be released in a few days’ time. IBPS would only release the result status at present – whether or not a candidates has qualified for the IBPS PO Mains 2018 examinations. Those who qualify the preliminary examination would have to appear for the IBPS PO Mains 2018 on November 18, 2018.
