    Sivagangai: In Sivagangai district, state-sponsored school students, they have come down to the field and are cleaning the villages.

    ☛ Over the course of the south west monsoon and throughout the state of North-East monsoon, sporadic dengue and swine flu spread throughout the state. Following this, Rameshwara Murugan ordered the school students and parents to raise awareness about the fever. Students who are aware of the fever are involved in the awareness of the public and their neighbours.

    ☛ In a government-sponsored school in Devakottai in Sivagangai district, students were involved in the task of cleaning up and cleaning themselves. They went to every street and built awareness on the public and in the streets to eliminate unused items that are in favor of mosquito production. In some places, students descended into the field and removed unnecessary items. This action of the students is appreciated by the public.

    ☛ Those who are willing to appear for JEST must have completed their final year exams by August. The JEST exam score is valid for one year.     AIIMS PG 2019 ADMIT CARD RELEASED FOR JANUARY SESSION ENTRANCE EXAM:

    All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS has released the admit cards for PG- January 2019 session. Candidates who will appear for the entrance test can visit the official site of AIIMS at aiimsexams.org and download it from the academic courses tab. The examination will be conducted on November 18, 2018.

    ☛ AIIMS has invited candidates for the entrance examinations for admission in Post Graduate courses of AIIMS. The courses includes MD/MS/M.Ch. (6 years)/DM (6 years)/ MDS. The entrance examination will be conducted in New Delhi as well as six other AIIMSs in Bhopal, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar and Rishikesh.

    ☛ The examinations will conducted from 9.00am to 12.00noon for medical courses and from 09.00am to 10.30am for dental courses across the cities where the exams will be conducted. The examinations are computer based and will have 200 objective type questions for MD/MS courses and 90 objective type questions for MDS courses.

    ☛ On re-election in 2016, the LDF government in Kerala had made it clear that it was committed to ensuring 100% literacy and providing access to education to every single person in the state. On Wednesday in a gesture that certainly furthers those promises, the state’s education minister gifted a laptop to a 96-year-old woman who made history by becoming the oldest person to clear the state’s literacy exam as part of the ‘Aksharalaksham’ mission.

    ☛ Karthyayini Amma, who scored 98 marks out of 100 in the literacy exam at the age of 96 last month, had expressed her desire to learn how to operate a computer and also to write the class 10 equivalency exam soon. On Wednesday, C Raveendranath, the education minister, visited her home in Cheppad in Alappuzha district and gifted her the laptop. An overjoyed Karthayayini Amma who was taken by surprise with the gift, impressed the minister by typing her own name in English on the laptop.

    ☛ Sources close to the minister said he visited her house when he was in the area to take part in an official engagement. When someone told him that the nonagenarian wanted a computer, he visited a shop nearby and bought a Dell laptop worth Rs 25,000 and gifted it to her in an official capacity. Public education director KV Mohan Kumar accompanied the minister.

    ☛ Karthyayini Amma, who never went to school in her life and raised her family by working as a sweeper and domestic help, lives with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at a humble home in Cheppad. She enrolled herself for the literacy exam earlier this year and spent months preparing for the exam in August with the help of a teacher. She told the Indian Express last month that she was happy she scored 98%, but also a bit sad to lose out on two marks. She added she wanted to study as long as she was healthy.

    SSC MTS 2018 NOTIFICATION:

    ☛ Staff Selection Commission, SSC will release the official notification of Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination-2018(Paper-I) soon. Candidates who want to apply can visit the official website of SSC at ssc.nic.in. as per the official calendar released by SSC, the notification was scheduled to be out on November 03,2018, but it was released. The last date is calendar states is December 03,2018 to apply.

    SSC MTS 2018 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

    ☛ Once the notification is out, candidates who meet eligibility criteria can apply for it. Candidates should be class 10 pass from a recognised state board or university to apply for SSC MTS 2018 posts. The age limit is between 18 to 27 years of age.

    SSC MTS 2018 SELECTION PROCEDURE:

    ☛ The selection process of SSC MTS 2018 recruitment comprises of qualifying two papers-paper-I and Paper-II.     ☛ A special B. Ed. course is offered and conducted by the Tamil Nadu Open University. Now, admissions are open for the B. Ed. Course for 2019. The qualification eligibility is decided as per the ‘Indian Rehabilitation Association Rules and regulations – 2015’.

    UNIVERSITY OF MADRAS TO IMPLEMENT A NEW SYSTEM:

    ☛ There are many students studying in University of Madras or MU. The superb piece of news for these students is soon MU would be implementing a new system and by this system the examination results of the students would be announced 10 to 15 days earlier than before.

    ☛ It must be noted that under the present system, answer sheets are assigned dummy numbers and then these answer sheets are sent for evaluation process. In the foil cards, the examiners enter the marks and these cards are collected on alternate days from the centres.

    ☛ According to university source it is now clear that 50,000 foil cards are usually created and for the April month examinations as many as 12 lakh dummy number are created twice. It is now brought out that for the creation of dummy numbers around 60 tabulators are usually engaged for a period of 15 days for the date creation of slips and foil cards. There are also 10 temporary employees who do the work and the work takes place for 10 days. One important point to note is the dummy numbers and registration numbers of the students gets verified manually and corrected. Later the actual processing of the results start and it totally takes about 27 days to get completed.

    ☛ It is now said that in the new answer book the first page would have 2 tearable portions with QR codes. Register numbers would be filled by the students in the upper part. Once when the examination gets finished this upper part would be removed and sent to the university and the lower part having QR code would be sent to the evaluation centres. Once when the evaluation process gets finished then the QR code would be read by the scanner and matched with the register number of the student. By this procedure the need for having dummy numbers would not be there.

    ☛ Malpractice has been going on for many years during the examinations. It is superb to mention here that by this new procedure there would not be any malpractice and this new procedure would also make the university less vulnerable to re-evaluation scams. One more advantage of this new procedure is front page could be scanned and image could be saved in the database of years. By this dispute would not be there as it would be settled. The results of the examinations could be published much earlier than usual because of less manpower and also by doing away with foil cards and dummy numbers.

    ☛ A test run of this new system was conducted in the month of July for 1500 answer scripts and the good news is this new system has been cleared by the TANSCHE or Tamil Nadu State Higher Education Council. As per the sources, this new system would be implemented from November of in December 2018 in a phased manner. Vice-chancellor of University of Madras spoke about how this new system would be tested for post graduate examinations in all the affiliated colleges of MU.
