UP POLICE CONSTABLE EXAM 2018 NOT TO BE CANCELLED, ALLAHABAD HC REJECTS PETITION:

Allahabad: Allahabad High Court has rejected the petition filed to cancel the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2018. As per the petition filed in the court of Sangeeta Chandra. The petition was filed by Dheerendra Kumar and 25 others, requesting for the entire examination to be cancelled and be conducted again. UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2018 was conducted on June 18 and 19. Soon, however, reports of error in distribution of papers came to light, following which UPPRPB cancelled the second slot exams conducted on both the days.

☛ The petition requested that the entire examination be cancelled. However, the court has rejected, noting that the affected candidates have been asked to appear for the re-examination. Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, UPPRPB would be conducting the re-examination for the affected candidates today.

☛ As many as 41, 520 constables would be recruited by means of the UP Police Recruitment 2018. As per the reports, as many as 19 lakh candidates had appeared for the examination. The examination was conducted in two slots on June 18 and 19. Following the discovery of the error in the question paper distribution (same set was distributed in both the slots), the examination for all the candidates who appeared in the second (afternoon shift) were cancelled.

☛ As many as 9 lakh candidates were affected by the decision to cancel the examination. UPPRPB is now conducting the re-examination for the candidates on October 25 and October 26. The examination would be conducted in one shift on October 25 and two shifts on October 26.
