Marks normalisation is a process used in most competitive exams including GATE.It is a process by which it is ensured that students are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged by the difficulty of papers they write.RRB candidates who appeared for the Level-1 Railway Recruitment Board exams might get more than the total marks, the Indian Railways clarified Wednesday after a 'morphed' marksheet showing extra marks given in RRB results went viral on social media. This increase in scores took place because the marks are subject to normalisation.
