The 40th reunion of Alumni members of the 1979 batch of the College of Engineering are planning to pay the hostel fee for needy students.Earlier the batch had helped develop a digital library worth ?40 lakh during their silver jubilee reunion in 2004-05. Of the 280 alumni in the batch, at least 180 have been traced and as many as 140 would be attending the event.The aim for this reunion is to help students who despite having maintained a CGPA of 9.5 in the first year are forced to discontinue as they cannot pay hostel fees.
